Agreement to terms

By using hearthwise.care (the "Site") or purchasing the Complete Hearthwise Guide, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

What Hearthwise is

Hearthwise is an educational, self-guided home safety self-assessment. You answer questions about a home, and we generate a score and written guidance based on your own answers. It is not a professional home inspection, a medical evaluation, or a guarantee of safety, and it is not performed by a licensed inspector, contractor, or medical professional.

The guidance we provide is general and educational. It does not account for every possible condition of every home, and it should not be treated as a substitute for a professional in-home inspection, a doctor's advice, or the judgment of the people who actually live in or know the home.

Purchases and payment

The Complete Hearthwise Guide is a one-time digital purchase of $29, processed securely through Stripe. It is not a subscription and does not renew automatically.

Because the Complete Guide is generated and delivered instantly and digitally, all sales are final once your report has been generated. If something went wrong with your purchase or delivery, contact us at hello@hearthwise.care and we'll make it right.

No warranty

Hearthwise is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that following our guidance will prevent falls, injuries, or any other outcome. You are solely responsible for decisions you make about a home based on our report, including whether to pursue any repairs, modifications, or professional consultation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hearthwise and its operators are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any report, guidance, or content we provide. This includes, without limitation, injuries related to falls, home hazards, or any other condition of a home that our assessment did or did not identify.

Your responsibilities

• Answer the assessment questions as accurately as you can — the report is only as useful as the information it's based on
• Use the Site and any report for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Don't attempt to resell, redistribute, or represent our reports as a licensed professional inspection

Intellectual property

The Site, its design, and its written content are owned by Hearthwise. Your own report, generated from your own answers, is yours to keep and use personally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
